The thread running through Yuchen's study of A-level Art and Design was a theme of creature and space,inspiring most of her art work and eventually lead her into architecture.

As a student of Manchester School of Architecture,she has given most of her attention to the users of the architecture,she considers architecture not merely as a building but also the opportunity to enhance users' life,deriving design from the people to provide back to the people,and hence dispelling the status of herself as an architect.Her biggest interest apart from architecture is painting,she continues to bring in the sense of space she obtaines from architecture into her painting,while the skill/philosophy of art she learns from painting is brought into her architecture projects.
