Testing out different possibilities by putting fuctional areas in the volumns generated from Big Draw output.

Creating a 'street' by spliting up the volumn

*Transparency:

A 'transparent' ground floor allows flexible circulation

*Rooftop green space:

Efficient use of rooftop area

*Courtyard:

A safe place surronded by indoor space.

More choices of restaurant is the main issue.

To address the problem of unhealthy lifestyle in Stretford,more healthy food restaurants and fresh food markets will be introduced into the building.

People want civic space and urban life,outdoor space can help a lot,it does not have to be a proper street,some street furnitures like bench outside of the restaurant will do the job.

Children need places to play with their friends,need places to develop their sense of art and ability of sports,parents want places to have fun with their kids,

Green space is a necessary component of Children's Center where children can do sports or gardening activities.

Splitting up the volumn to create a street,the street connects the bus stop on the Edge Lane and the intersection of Newton St. and Lacy St.

View from the Stretford Mall (and Essoldo cinema) will be occupied by the green area in from of the building.

'Transparency' is achieved by these two 'gaps' (connecting the canal and the green space) where people can travel through

The 'Hunter Gatherer' and its food market sit on the ground floor,making it more accessible to local people.

Children's Center sits in the center of the site,because it is not necessary to all local residences.

Size of the first floor restaurants are shrinked a bit to leave some space for outdoor seating area,a visual connection between levels is thus created,and 'open atmosphere' is achieved.

Rooftop space is the extension of first floor,where people can have party on or maybe too much people crowded on the first floor so that you want to move to a space with more fresh air.
